filme cehesti @ Festivalul de Film Istoric Rasnov / 6-15 august / Rasnov

Anul acesta se implinesc 135 de ani de la nasterea Reginei Maria a Romaniei si 65 de ani de la terminarea celui de-Al Doilea Razboi Mondial. Festivalul Filmului Istoric de la Rasnov va invita la o calatorie in timp, urmarind filme despre cele doua teme istorice si cele mai noi productii de film istoric din Europa.
Festivalul se afla la cea de-a doua editie si aduce in Romania si in Europa de Est un nou concept festivalier. Programul cuprinde filme de fictiune romanesti si internationale (unele in premiera pentru Romania), filme documentare (materiale unice din Arhiva Nationala de Film si Arhiva Ministerului Apararii din Franta).
Atmosfera festivalului va fi intretinuta de concerte de muzica interbelica, recital de harpa celtica, lieduri ale unor compozitori romani si de un concert aniversar dedicat Reginei Maria. Perioada interbelica va fi oglindita si in expozitii de fotografie si lansari de carte pe toata perioada festivalului.

I Served the King of England este o noua adaptare semnata de Jiri Menzel, regizorul ceh care in 1967 castiga Oscarul pentru Cel mai bun film strain, cu pelicula Closely Watched Trains.
Filmul prezinta aventurile, ascensiunea si decaderea lui Jan Dite, un chelner din Praga primei jumatati a secolului trecut, un om ambitios, de o verticalitate rara, care isi doreste doar doua lucruri de la viata: sa fie bogat si sa ajunga un hotelier de succes. In momentul in care Jan se casatoreste cu o profesoara nazista de sport, viata lui se complica si mai mult… starneste dispretul cehilor insa nu se poate incadra nici in randurile nemtilor.

Un film documentar despre meniuri de razboi si despre cum o portie de mancare poate influenta victoria sau infrangerea. Bucataria devine un camp de lupta si un model al unei lumi unde pregatirea hranei devine o strategie de lupta; o lupta pentru idealuri care porneste pe masa din bucatarie. Filmul are la baza 11 retete ale unor bucatari care au gatit pentru armata intre cel de al 2-lea Razboi Mondial si Razboiul din Tchechenia; din Franta pana in Balcani si Rusia.

On September 2009, in Romania, took place the first edition of The Historical Film Festival Rasnov (Festivalul de Film Istoric Rasnov – FFIR), in a place full of historical meanings.
Founded in 2009, FFIR is the first historical film festival in Romania and in the Eastern Europe. During the first edition the Romanian public has welcomed the first 20 features and documentaries about the communist period (the first edition of the festival was celebrating 20 years since the collapse of the Iron Curtain).
The HISTORICAL FILM FESTIVAL RASNOV (FFIR) 2010’s edition celebrates 135 years since the Queen Mary of Romania was born and 65 years since the end of the World War 2. The main section is dedicated to new historical film (features, documentaries, shorts) produced between 2008 and 2010.

After winning the Oscar for the best foreign film in 1967, Jiri Menzel comes to represent once again the Czech Republic at the Academy Awards with his adaptation of Bohumil Hrabal’s book I Served the King of England.
The film presents the adventures of a young Czech waiter from the middle of the 20th century, as he tries to accomplish his life dreams – to be rich and to own a successful hotel. His life gets even tougher after he marries a Nazi sport teacher; this alliance brings upon him the disregard of the Czechs, but it’s not enough to bring him closer to the Germans.

A documentary film about army cooks and how the everyday needs of thousands of armed stomachs affect the victories and defeats of statesmen. About the field kitchen as a model of a world where food preparation becomes a fight strategy; a fight for great ideals standing on strong legs of the kitchen table.
The film is based on eleven recipes of the cooks since the Second World War till the war in Tchechenia; from France through the Balkans to Russia.
