Regizoarea Ulli Gladik o intalneste pe cersetoarea Natasha in Graz si dupa mai multe discutii, o insoteste pe tanara rroma bulgaroaica la casa ei din Breznika, un oras din apropierea Sofiei.

Natasha este un om ca oricare altul, uneori fericita, alteori trista, prea tanara ca sa se pensioneze, insa fara nici o sansa sa isi gaseasca un loc de munca. Natasha are si un fiu in varsta de 10 ani pe nume Vasko. Datorita handicapului fizic pe care il are calatoreste des in Austria, cu scopul de a castiga cu acest handicap bani pentru intretinerea familiei. Ulli Gladik o insoteste in repetate randuri pe Natasha in calatoriile sale, fiind regizor si cameraman in acelasi timp.

ENGLISH VERSION

Ulli Gladik meets Natasha the beggar in Graz and, after a number of conversations, accompanies Natasha to her home of Breznik, a former industrial town near Sofia. Over a period of two years, Gladik, a combination camera woman and director, visits Natasha in Bulgaria and Austria, documenting the young woman’s life – her journeys and traveling companions, her work as a beggar, her home in Graz, her family life and her everyday routine in Bulgaria. Natasha is no different than we are, sometimes happy, sometimes sad, sometimes in love or depressed. Saying goodbye to her 10-year-old son Vasko has become routine, though it is still painful. Natasha, too young to retire, has no job opportunities and virtually no hope for the future and, with the money she makes begging, she tries to make her life bearable.
