Somnoroase pasarele (Gili Mocanu)
Genuri abordate: ambiental, minimalism, dub, drone music, sound art, ethnic electronica, idm, 2step, dubstep, d’n’b, trip hop, hip hop.
In multe tari, spoturile au ridicat nivelul implicarii civice a oamenilor in lupta impotriva discriminarii sociale sau in privinta drepturilor animalelor.
Castelul misterios din Carpati
Tajemství hradu v Karpatech, 1981, Cehoslovacia,
R: Oldrich Lipsky, 97 min.
Adela nu a servit inca cina
Adela jeste nevecerela, 1977, Ceholovacia,
R: Oldřich Lipsky, 102 min.
Detectivul Nick Carter apare ca personaj in ”America” la sfarsitul secolului 19 si a supravietuit in romane pana in 1990. Daca vreti, povestea aminteste intrucatva de ”The Little Shop of Horrors” (1960) al lui Roger Corman.

////////////////////////////////// ENGLISH VERSION
All gourmands and insomniacs are invited in the kitchen of the Czech Centre starting from 20h00 for a night of audiovisual… experiments. The appetizer is served in the Concrete Garden and we continue with the garnish in the Small Hall. And to grow your appetite, we prepared in collaboration with One World Festival in Prague, an international selection of social advertising that make sense. For all kinds of tastes, even for the most pretentious ones. And the greediest visitors can also sample two Czech films weird but good: ”Mysterious Castle of the Carpathians” and “Adela has not yet served dinner”, made by one of the most wacky Czech directors, Oldrich Lipsky. The main course will be served in the Great Hall by three Sound Chefs (Somnoroase Pasarele, Miron Ghiu, Rufi) directly from behind the turntables. They have accepted the challenge of experimenting new recipes and have vowed to spice up the atmosphere with the audible ingredients brought from each of you. The chefs will come with empty vessels, and according to the ingredients you will bring, they will improvise on your own taste. The musical experiments will be seasoned with video cocktails. Salt and pepper will be added by Sambata Sonora. For dessert we have prepared a czech recipe for white nights: Pilsner Urquell served cold. An experiment without calories and on all tastes!
Somnoroase Pasarele (Gili Mocanu)
The practical interest for proper establishment of sound material, appeared over 10 years. Public manifestations over three years. The method and compositional approach avers our band off the beaten track. Our goal is to explore through music with no interest in the classical methods. We have a wide evperience in the romanian contemporary music, taking advantage of the precedentes. The favorite current will be “Spectralul”, pioneering Iancu Dumitrescu. We give tribute only to him. Projects: Somnoroase pasarele Edif Pilaf, Timp Mort, t.t.g.g.b.b.t.t., Victim of Truth, Public Tracks, Centrul Isteric, Ileri.
Miron Ghiu
Obsessed with intricate soundscapes, Miron Ghiu is o perpetual journey through waveforms and noises. Nomad since the beginning, he uses everything that he finds through his wanderings and he dreams of a musical piece involving just one sound, digitally altered and modified. He loves to spend lots of time in different softwares and he’s a fan of the digital realms of music. When he’s not creating textures he downloads music made by others, in perpetual search for the perfect landscape of his noisy andd abstract thoughts.
NonComm
NonComm is section of social spots, part of One World Festival based on Prague, which was a big hit with festival audiences. This category presents nearly 70 short videos made in the years 2007–2010 as part of awareness campaigns in dozens of countries all over the world. In a frequently humorous, occasionally shocking manner, these spots draw attention to serious topics, such as the devastation of the environment, domestic violence and racism. Other videos are intended to alter our patterns of behaviour in areas like road safety. In many countries, they have genuinely increased the level of people’s civic engagement in the fight against social discrimination or in protecting the rights of animals.
The Mysterious Castle in the Carpathians
In the same year that Stere Gulea was making a screen-version for the politicized version of Jules Verne novel, in which the action is related to the „memorandum“ movement in Transilvania, Oldrich Lipsky was also into Jules Verne, enthusiastically mocking the vampire-films, after the Polanski pattern and the industrial revolution, because the machines of crazy scientist Orfanik (Rudolf Hrusínsky) are fragile, paranormal phenomenals like the passion of the undertaken austro-hungarian for music. It’s set in an archaic kingdom in the mountains, Carpathia, and there are of course, references to Dracula. And come to think about it, in the same era, the romanian people were considering Dracula and vampire-stories as tabu subjects…
Nick Carter superdetectiv
The detective Nick Carter appears as a character in the late 19th century America and survived in novels until 1990. Oldrich Lipsky calls him in the Prague of the beginning of the 20th century, to solve a case in which the crimes have an author absolutely uncommon. The atmosphere of the 1900s is suggested also with special inserts and Jan Svankmajer definitely adds some spectacular tricks. In some way, the story resembles with „The Little Shop of Horrors“ (1960) by Roger Corman.
