Bakhmaro
O incursiune intr-o cladire in paragina, dar plina de culoare intr-un oras de provincie din Georgia – un microcosmos in care perspectiva schimbarii este perceputa ca un intrus. In centrul cladirii se gaseste un restaurant ai carui pereti sunt acoperiti cu tapet verde deschis si portocaliu si unde mesele sunt mereu pregatite pentru clientii… care vin foarte rar. Asemenea lor, nici schimbari majore nu apar in acest loc. Chelnerita Nana si seful ei asteapta, asemenea tutror obiectelor din cladire… Posterele electorale si reclamele TV promit o viata mai buna, dar se pare ca nimic nu se poate schimba.
Designated Space
Film documentar eseistic ce exploreaza spatiul reprezentatiei artistice ca purtator al propriei povesti si initiator al actului artistic. Filmul priveste spatiile public si privat ca posibile scene pentru jocul actoricesc. Avand un caracter excesiv vizual, filmul include secvente cu spatii scenografice si arhitecturale ale proiectelor din cadrul Prague Quadrennial 2011 pentru Spatiu si Design Performativ, cat si cadre cu alte spatii publce si private din oras. Filmul este produs de Prague Quadrennial si propune cercetarea scenei ca un domeniu independent. Utilizand lumina pentru a da viata obiectelor imobile, este reflectata actiunea dramatica prezenta nu numai in spatiile scenice si arhitecturale, dar si in locuri din Down, caci orice spatiu gol este in cele din urma o potentiala scena.

Documentar despre timp realizat in colaborare de 24 de regizori intr-o singura zi in Republica Ceha. Fiecare regizor a ales o ora din ziua respectiva, pe care trebuie sa o transpuna in 2 minute de film. Rezultatul: un mozaic de genuri si subiecte care formeaza un grup de documentare notabile ce urmaresc trei generati.
Solar Eclipse
Documentar despre declinul Europei noblesse oblige si despre aparitia Lumii a Treia. Filmul se deschide cu 2 elctricieni ai guvernului Republicii Cehe, Milan si Tomas care se intorc in satul Zambian Masuku pentru a verifica starea unui panou solar pe care il construisera cu cativa ani inainte pentru a alimenta cu energie electrica scoala locala, o clinica si cateva case. Gasesc totul in paragina gratie interventiei creative a localnicilor. Cablurile au fost taiate. Pompele, regulatoarele si robinetele au fost distruse. „De vina este natura animalica a omului“, explica un localnic. In timp ce Tomas explodeaza de frustrare si electricienii incearca sa repare stricaciunea, un adevar se intrezareste – nu le putem cunoaste sistemul social – , iar Milan concluzioneaza: „Nu putem pretinde ca suntem salvatori sau Mesia aici.“ Mentalitati rasiale ce se lovesc miscator, subtil si umoristic.

Bakhmaro
A journey into a lively but rotting building in a provincial Georgian town – a microcosm intruded by the constant anticipation of change. At the center of the building is a restaurant whose walls are covered with bright green and orange plastic foam and where tables are set, waiting for customers – who rarely come. Just like customers, change also comes rarely here. Just like the others in the building waitress Nana and her boss are waiting… Election posters and TV ads promise a better life, but it looks like nothing can change.

Designated Space
Documentary film essay exploring space for performance that carries its own story and initiates performative action. The film looks at public and spaces as possible stages for theatrical acting. This highly visual film includes footage of scenographic and architectural spaces from Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space 2011 exhibitions and projects as well as from other public and private spaces in the city. The film is produced by the Prague Quadrennial and follows the research into scenography as an independent and expanded field. Using movement to give light to non-moving things, it reflects the dramatic action hidden not only in scenographic and architectural spaces, but at sites throughout Down, since all empty space is a potential stage.

Collaborative documentary by 24 filmmakers about time during one day in the Czech Republic. Each director chose one hour of the day, for which he or she had two minutes of film time. The result is a mosaic of genus and subjects that make up a group of notable documentaries spanning three generations. Documentary about the collision of European noblesse oblige and Third World emergence.

Solar Eclipse
As the film opens, a pair of government electricians from the Czech Republic, Milan and Tomas, are returning to the remote Zambian village of Masuku to check up on the solar-panel system they built a few years earlier to bring electric power to the local school, a clinic, and several houses. They find the whole thing in shambles, thanks to the Masukuan’s’creative tampering. Cables have been cut. Pumps, regulators, and water taps are broken. “It is the problem of animal in man,” one local resident explains. While Tomas explodes in frustration and the electricians struggle to repair the damage, they glimpse at least one truth. “We really don’t know their social system,” Milan concludes: “We can’t pretend that we are saviors or messiahs here.” Black and white mindsets subtly, humorously, and touchingly collide.
