The exhibition was prepared by the Czech Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes and the Czech Centres to mark 60 years since the Radio Free Europe started broadcasting. It maps the history of the station and its specifics in each of the Visegrad countries, as well as in Romania and Bulgaria. It presents the editorial staffs and describes the RFE’s impact on political and social events of the Cold War era, such as on the Hungarian uprising in 1956 and the Velvet Revolution in Czechoslovakia in 1989.
The exhibition is organised by the Czech Centre Bucharest in collaboration with the Political Sciences Faculty of the University of Bucharest on the occasion of the Czech presidency in the Visegrad Group.
The exhibition is held under the patronage of the Ambassadors of the Czech Republic, Hungary, Republic of Poland and Slovak Republic.

The exhibition is staged from March 12 until March 26, 2012.
Expoziție curatoriată de către Zuzana Jürgens (Centrul Ceh München) și Prokop Tomek (Institutul Istoriei Militare, Praga), care prezintă, prin fotografii, text și video, istoria Radioului Europa Liberă, de la înființare, în 1951, până în prezent. Expoziția se concentrează asupra țărilor care fac parte astăzi din Grupul Visegrad (pe atunci Cehoslovacia, Ungaria și Polonia), cât și asupra serviciilor Radio Europa Liberă în Bulgaria și România, prezentând personalitățile și evenimentele marcante ale radioului, și influența pe care a avut-o asupra ascultătorilor.
Vernisajul expoziției va fi însoțit de o masă rotundă cu participarea istoricilor, a jurnaliștilor, și a reprezentanților Radioului Europa Liberă, urmată de vizionarea peliculei „Război pe calea undelor”, în regia lui Alexandru Solomon.
Organizată de către Centrul Ceh București, Institutul Ceh pentru Studierea Regimurilor Totalitare și Facultatea de Științe Politice, Universitatea din București, cu ocazia președinției cehe în Grupul Visegrad, expoziția este ținută sub patronajul ambasadorilor Republicii Cehe, Ungariei, Republicii Poloneze și Republicii Slovace.
