Lumea in care nu te poti uita in ochii altui om si el nu-ti poate impartasi sentimentele sau gandurile isi gaseste reprezentarea in hainele de camuflaj, care au rolul de a ascunde, de a contopi cu mediul si de a face imposibil de distins. Totusi, pentru ca nu stim intotdeauna daca este razboi sau nu, imbracamintea de camuflaj isi face loc in viata civila. Ce sa intelegem din faptul ca materialul de camuflaj ajunge din subculturile militante pe podiumurile de moda si devine o extravaganta? Si cum putem interpreta pasul urmator, momentul in care un accesoriu de haute-couture devine parte a modei strazii si tricoul de camuflaj poate fi cumparat cu cateva zeci de lei in piata? Oare suntem martorii militarizarii societatii, sau, din contra, aceasta moda are rolul de a integra si civiliza comportamentele militare? Si de fapt, oare nu orice moda este un mod de camuflare civila, un mod de a ne integra in peisaj?

Salak este interesat de acest subiect de multa vreme si in spatele proiectului Guerilla sta ascunsa o intrebare mult mai generala: Oare moda materialului de camuflaj anunta niste schimbari majore in societate?

Apparently, the world, where you are not allowed to look another person right into eyes and share his/her feelings and thoughts, finds presentation in the camouflage clothes. The main purpose is to hide subjects or people so that they are invisible and unrecognizable. Nevertheless, this definition is not so valid because in time when we do not know whether it is war or not camouflage gains its role in the civil life. How to understand the fact that camouflage cloth gets from militant subcultures into the world of fashion shows and becomes a fashion aberration? What to think when exclusive fashion becomes part of general taste and it is possible to buy camouflage T-shirt in a market? Is the society becoming more militant or is it, on the contrary, a way for different militant displays to get civilized gradually? In fact, isn’t fashion just a specific form of civilized camouflage?
Behind Salak’s long term project – Guerilla it’s a even much more general hidden question: Doesn’t today’s fashion of military camouflage pattern announce a more essential cultural turn?
