Fanfán Tulipán este o trupă formată în primăvara lui 2009 de către Eliška Svobodová, pe atunci studentă la Conservatorul din Praga. Ceilalți membri ai trupei sunt Dušan Navařík (flaut), Jan Mazura (pian), Jan Neruda (chitară bas) și Šimon Hajdovský (tobe). Împreună au câștigat premiul Young Tune Jazz, dovada că sunt o descoperire promițătoare pe scena muzicii cehe de jazz. Muzica lor este în aparență foarte ușoară, un jazz dinamic și jucăuș , dar serioasă în momentele potrivite, în care poți regăsi uneori elemente ale tradiției slave.
Fanfán Tulipán came into being in the spring of 2009, at the initiative of Eliška Svobodová, who was at the time studying at the Prague Conservatory. Soon she was joined by Dušan Navařík (flute), Jan Mazura (piano), Jan Neruda (bass guitar), and Šimon Hajdovský (drums). Together they have won the Young Tune Jazz Award and this accounts for the widespread opinion according to which they are a highly promissing presence on the Czech jazz scene. Their music maintains the appearance of a certain lightness, since they play a dynamic and innovative jazz. Nevertheless, they successfully integrate every here and there serious elements that recover motifs belonging to the Slavic heritage.
