La mijlocul lunii martie, in 2003, in timp ce lumea isi directiona atentia asupra inceperii razboiului in Irak, Fidel Castro s-a folosit de aceasta camuflare pentru a aresta 75 de aparatori ale drepturilor omului, jurnalisti independenti, bibliotecari si membri ai opozitiei.
In aprilie, activistii arestati au fost supusi unor procese incorecte si condamnati in medie la 20 de  ani de inchisoare. Familiile prizonierilor sufera, de asemenea,  de consecintele severitatii guvernului. Membrii familiilor prizonerilor sunt deseori abuzati si amenintati de catre autoritati si, in cateva cazuri, membrii comunitatii locale s-au intors impotriva familiilor. Cei de acasa platesc de asemenea o sentinta, aceea a suferintei.

ONE WORLD ROMANIA takes of with an exhibition, the first of the four photo exhibitions presented within this film vestival.

In mid March 2003, while the world turned its attention to the start of the war in Iraq, Fidel Castro used the cover created but the war to arrest 75 human rights defenders, independent journalists, librarians and opposition members.
In April, the arrested activists were subjected to hasty and unfair trials and quickly sentenced to an average of 20 years in prison. The families of these prisoners of conscience are also suffering the consequences of the government crackdown. Prisoner’s family members are often abused and threatened by the authorities, and in some cases members of local communities have been turned against the families. The family members are also serving a sentence, a price they are paying at home.
