COMUNICAT de presă One World ROmania
50 de filme in cine-lupta la One World Romania 2014
Bucuresti, 14 martie 2014
Festivalul are loc intre 17 si 23 martie in mai multe locatii din Bucuresti. Informatiile complete despre sectiuni, evenimente conexe, invitati, lista completa a filmelor si trailer-ele acestora sunt disponibile pe site-ul oficial al festivalului: www.oneworld.ro.

50 movies in kino-kombat at One World Romania 2014
Bucharest March 14, 2014
The seventh edition of One World Romania, the documentary film festival on human rights starts on Monday, 17th of March and brings to Bucharest 50 films in five main sections, special screenings, matinees for high school students, a documentary workshop, theater, debates, a masterclass of the Polish filmmaker Marcel Lozinski, and even a special tourist circuit in downtown Bucharest.
Initiated by the Czech Centre seven years ago, and inspired by the festival of the same name in the Czech Republic, One World Romania is dedicated to the memory of Vaclav Havel, playwright, politician and human rights defender. “It is not by chance that One World Romania has been launched by the Czech Centre and the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Bucharest, as human rights have always been one of the priorities of the Czech foreign policy,” says Rene Kubasek, the director of the Czech Centre.
The five main sections of this year are: After 25 years, Rebels for causes, The crooked state, The mass-media clinic, Love is a also human right. The films were selected from all over the world, many were awarded at international festivals and all are screened for the first time in Romania. “The festival’s core is the fact that each screening is followed by discussions with the public and many other accompanied events. I believe that with the growth of civil society in Romania, also the festival gains more and more importance”, adds Rene Kubasek.
The festival takes place between 17 and 23 of March in several Bucharest venues. All the films have Romanian and English subtitles. Complete information about the sections, related events, guests, list of movies and their trailers, are available on the official website of the festival: www.oneworld.ro.
