THE PLASTIC PEOPLE DESCHID FESTIVALUL SOUNDCZECH SĂPTĂMÂNA ACEASTA
Festivalul este compus din opt concerte ce vor avea loc în perioada următoare in București, Cluj, Oradea și Timișoara
Cea de-a treia ediție a festivalului de muzică contemporană cehă SOUNDCZECH își deschide porțile miercuri, 24 septembrie la ora 21.00, cu ocazia concertului legendarei trupe underground The Plastic People of the Universe care va avea loc la Clubul Țăranului din București.
De asemenea, grupul va susține un concert special doar pentru invitați, cu ocazia Zilei Naționale a Republicii Cehe, la Palatul Bragadiru pe 25 Septembrie la ora 18.00.
Trupa va fi prezentă și pe 25 septembrie la ora 13.00 pentru a depune flori la monumentul dedicat lui Václav Havel din Parcul Izvor /Jurnaliștii interesați să ia parte la acest eveniment sunt rugați să se prezinte la stația de metrou Parc Izvor, cel târziu la ora 13.00/.
Probabil una dintre cele mai influente formații din underground de pe întreagă planetă – The Plastic People of the Universe vor ajunge pentru prima dată în România cu ocazia sărbătoririi a 25 de ani de la evenimentele din 1989.
The Plastic People of the Univese este principalul reprezentant al contraculturii pragheze (1968-1989), muzica lor fiind influențată de către artiști precum The Velvet Underground sau Frank Zappa. Legendarul grup avangardist a militat permanent împotriva regimului comunist, suferind nenumărate condamnări datorită acestor activități. Ei au reprezentat principalul motiv pentru care dramaturgul Václav Havel, susținut de alți membrii ai culturii cehe, a pus bazele Cartei 77.
În cadrul festilului SOUNDCZECH vor mai fi prezente și alte două trupe din Republica Cehă – revelația scenei alternative pragheze Vložte Kočku, dar și duo-ul DVA care se întorc în România să ne uimească cu sunetul lor jucăuș și versurile lor in limbi inexistente.
Accesul la evenimentele din cadrul SOUNDCZECH este gratuit. Festivalul este organizat de către Centrul Ceh București, cu sprijinul Staropramen.

THE PLASTIC PEOPLE OPEN SOUNDCZECH FESTIVAL THIS WEEK
Altogether eight concerts will take place in Bucharest, Cluj, Oradea, and Timisoara in the coming weeks
The third edition of SOUNDCZECH, festival of contemporary Czech music, starts in Bucharest this Wednesday, September 24 at 21.00 with the concert of legendary underground band Plastic People of the Universe at Clubul Taranului.
The band will also perform, for invited guests, on the occasion of the Czech Statehood Day, at Palatul Bragadiru on September 25 from 18.00.
Still on September 25, at 13.00, the band will lay flowers at the linden tree alley dedicated to Václav Havel at Izvor Parc /journalists interested in attending are kindly asked to arrive to the Metro station entrance to Parc Izvor at 13.00 at the latest/.
Probably the most influential underground band in the World, The Plastic People of the Universe arrive for the first time to Romania on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the 1989 events.
The Plastic People of the Universe is the foremost representative of Prague’s underground culture (1968–1989), their music being influenced by The Velvet Underground and Frank Zappa. This legendary avant-garde group went against the grain of the Communist regime and due to its non-conformism often suffered serious problems such as arrests.It was in protest of these arrests and prosecutionthat led playwright Václav Havel and others to write the Charter 77.
The SOUNDCZECH festival will present in the upcoming weeks another two Czech bands – a discovery on the Czech alternative scene “Vložte Kočku”, and DVA, which return to Romania with their songs in non-existing languages and a playful combination of acoustic and electronic sounds and voice.
The entrance to all SOUNDCZECH concerts is free. The event is organized by the Czech Centre Bucharest with support of Staropramen.
