In dimineata zilei de 21 august 1968 trupele soviete alaturi de trupe din alte patru tari semnatare ale pactului de la Varsovia, invadau Cehoslovaica. Acest moment marca inceputul sfarsitului miscarii de reforma din Cehoslovacia,cunoscuta sub numele de Primavara de la Praga.
Fotografii alb-negru prezinta momente importante care au modelat cursul istoriei din 68 in 89, de la Primavara de la Praga la Revolutia de Catifea. Expozitia readuce imagini precum inmormantarea lui Jan Palach, un tanc rusesc strivind o cladire din Liberec, un miting ilegal in Piata Vaclav dar si momentul in care televiziunea nationala anunta retragerea partidului comunist de la putere.
Fotografiile sunt selectate din lucrarile a peste 30 de fotigrafi celebri, castigatori ai unor premii precum World Press Photography Awards, Czech Press Photography Awards si Photographer of the Year

In the morning hours of August 21st 1968, the Soviet army invaded Czechoslovakia along with troops from four other Warsaw Pact countries. The occupation was the beginning of the end for the Czechoslovak reform movement known as the Prague Spring.
Black and white images of renowned Czech photographers captures unforgettable moments that shaped the course of history
in the exhibition 68/89 From the Prague Spring to the Velvet Revolution. The pictures present a record of the past—from the funeral of Jan Palach, a Soviet tank destroying a building in Liberec, an illegal demonstration by protestors in Wenceslas Square, to VAclav Havel and Alexander DubCek at the moment when Czechoslovak Television announced the resignation of the Communist Party politburo. Capturing memories is the work of over 30 award-winning photographers whose prestigious honors include the World Press Photography Awards, Czech Press Photography Awards, and Photographer of the Year.
