Republica Ceha va detine presedintia Consiliului European prima jumatate a anului 2009. Motto-ul presedintiei cehe este “Europa fara frontiere”, reflectand cele patru libertati de baza: transportul liber de marfa, capital, mana de lucru si servicii.

Cvartetul Stamic este un cvartet de corzi recunoscut atat in Republica Ceha cat si pe plan international. Au cantat de mai mult de 2000 de ori pe prestigioase scene internationale, au inregistrat aproape 70 de CD-uri impreuna cu mai multe case de discuri iar membrii sai au fost deseori invitati sa predea la clasele de master ale universitatilor din Europa si SUA.
Succesul international a fost declansat de castigarea in 1986 a unui premiu in cadrul Competitiei internationale de la Salzburg OIRT. Datorita acestei prestigioase distinctii, cvartetului i-au fost oferite oportunitati de a-si prezenta arta in tari si culturi diferite.
Din toamna anului trecut, Cvartetul Stamic este compus din: Jindrich Pazdera, Josef Kekula, Jan Peruska si Petr Hejny.

The Czech Republic will be presiding over the meetings of EU-27 between January and June 2009. The motto of the Czech Presidency, “Europe without Barriers”, reflects the four basic freedoms: the free movement of goods, capital, workers, and services.
The main priorities of the Czech Presidency are “the 3 E’s”: Economy, Energy and External Relations.
THE STAMIC QUARTET
The quartet has achieved high reputation on the Czech and international music scene: the Stamic Quartet has appeared in more than 2000 performances on prestigious international stages, recorded almost seventy CDs for various Czech and international labels and its members have been invited to
teach at international master classes in Europe and the USA.
The successful international career has been triggered by a triumph in the 1986 EBU/OIRT international competition in Salzburg. Due to this prestigious price the quartet was offered numerous performance opportunities around the world and their art has been appreciated in countries and varied cultures Since autumn last year the Stamic Quartet consists of the following musicians: Jindrich Pazdera, Josef Kekula, Jan Peruska and Petr Hejny.
