Ilustratiile ocupa un loc incontestabil in literatura pentru copii.

ENGLISH VERSION
The illustration has in children’s literature its own unchangeable place. Man was able to perceive only pictures before he learned to use the spoken and written word and this is also reflected in the personality development of each individual. First children look at the pictures, then they are able to read short nursery rhymes, to elect a text later and so the pictures become “only” illustrations for them. A good illustration is not simply visual supporting of text but it is a self-contained universe opened to children’s imagination and raised to the sense of literature. The illustrations are a full-value part of a book. The illustrations make the books understandable in spite of the language and cultural barriers.
