Drama ajunge in viata reala odata cu producerea unui accident in timpul repetitiilor cu public.

Cu siguranta nu exista extraterestii in Scufita Rosie.

A theatre company from Prague arrives in Cracow to present a stage adaptation of Dostoevsky’s novel «The Brothers Karamazov» at the city’s alternative drama festival; the production is to be staged in an unusual venue – the local steelworks. As rehearsals get under way, we follow not only the emotional story examining issues of faith, immortality and the salvation of the human soul, but also the relationships within the acting troupe itself, which strangely reflect Dostoevsky’s «great» themes. The stage drama is transferred to the real world when a tragedy occurs during rehearsal involving one of the spectators…

DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT: I try to keep the play and the text in the film very simple: from Dostoyevsky we have the story of the lawsuit, basically, and it’s a bit of a detective story, that’s how we treat it. We focus on the family and the question «Who killed the father?» and it works perfectly on that level.
Around the play – which is being rehearsed in a factory – around the play is a very simple tragedy of one of the factory workers, whose son is injured when he falls from a staircase. During the rehearsal the worker gets a phone call that the son has died during an operation to save him. An absolute personal tragedy. But he stays and watches the rehearsal and actually all the actors begin performing just for him. It becomes a performance for one viewer, one spectator.

Once upon a time there was a little girl name Terezka who loved to hear the story of Red Riding Hood and the big, bad wolf. Every evening her mother would be asked to read this fairy-tale to her, after which she would dream of walking through the grass-green woods wearing a bright red scarf on her head. And so Terezka lived happily with her parents and enjoyed going to kindergarten with her friend, Simon … But, as is so often with fairy-tales, in real life things sometimes turn out to be not at all as we expect. Dad’s always saying that Mum comes from Venus. She probably really is an alien that draws her energy from the sun, because she’s behaving very strangely these days: she keeps on forgetting school trips; she rows with Dad and is always making music with that stupid Patrik. The only thing that Terezka knows for sure is that things are definitely going awry. But every time she asks the grown-ups she only seems to get answers she can’t understand. Her friend is probably the only one who can help her in this confusing situation, but before Terezka and Simon can conduct further investigations, Mum and Patrik are called back to their planet. But Terezka refuses to board an aircraft with two aliens. There certainly aren’t any aliens in Red Riding Hood’s wood.
