The Prostitutes nu si-au ales numele intamplator si nici pentru a soca. Au marturisit faptul ca pentru ei publicul este o masa de clienti in serviciul carora se pun, indiferent de natura si de nationalitatea acestora. Au avut concerte in mai toata Republica Ceha, tara lor de origine, ajungand apoi treptat in Slovacia, Spania, Germania si in curand, Romania. Solistul, Adrian Bell, a fost comparat cu Johnny Cash si cu Ian Curtis. As adauga ca are si ceva din Paul Banks, solistul si chitaristul formatiei Interpol.
Formatia a luat nastere in 2004, la initiativa a trei dintre ei, care fusesera deja membri ai altor trupe. Dupa ce si-au lansat EP-ul „The Prostitutes” in 2005, au fost aclamati si considerati cea mai buna trupa a anului, in presa nationala de specialitate (reviste ca Filter, Report, New Music precum si televiziunea Ocko). Incurajati de succesul avut, in anul urmator au lansat primul album, numit „Get Me Out of Here”. Calitatea celor 11 piese pe care acesta le contine i-a determinat pe cei de la New Music sa caracterizeze
trupa ca fiind cel mai bun produs muzical cehesc din ultimii 10 ani.
Cel mai recent album al lor este “Hometown Zombie”, cu piese ce imbina versatilitatea tonurilor cu o consistenta tulburatoare a versurilor. Videoclipurile pieselor sunt si ele originale, fiind produsul colaborarii trupei cu regizori renumiti ca Simon Safranek si Roman Dietrich. (de Andhra Gafencu)

The Prostitutes
They were punk rockers and new wavers, then they formed The Prostitutes. In 2004 in Prague, Czech Republic there was a little to talk about when it came to music scene. English ex-sailor Adrian T. Bell met with friends Martin Destroyer, Luk Santiago, Stevie LFO and Mark Jukebox and formed a band with a single mission: Distortion-dancing-destruction, as they described three stages of “an entertainment”. From then, they combine an intense stage performance often compared to The Clash with original and honest songs about simple things in life which aren’t easy to go through (compared by press to Joy Division, Johnny Cash or Leonard Cohen).
The Prostitutes released their first album “Get Me Out Of Here” in September 2006 followed by “Hometown Zombies” album released on March 3rd 2009.
They became overnight sensation in 2005 in the Czech Republic and since then they are highly acclaimed by fans and music press all over the world. Now, for the first time The Prostitutes will bring their Hometown Zombies to the Silver Church for the ultimate ceremony. Prepare yourself.
