Dupa schimbarea regimului, Pavel si Ivana impreuna cu fiul Dominik si fiica Růžena traiesc in aceeasi locuinta mica in Nusle, Praga. In toate aceste activitati treptat si-a gasit rolul sau in familie.
ENGLISH VERSION
An episode from a cycle of documentary films tracing 25 years in the lives of six married couples. Normalization-era socialism, and then early capitalism as seen through the lives of several Czech families. They married in 1980, and until 1986 their lives were documented on film using time-lapse, resulting in a cycle of six 30-minute films about the six young couples and the six years of their marriages. In 1999, the filmmakers visited them again, and resumed shooting until
2005. The result is another six hour-long films continuing the original cycle.
21 year old Pavel and a year older Ivana created quite a traditional family. Pavel, as a very active person, besides his work and taking care of the family devoted himself to a range of hobbies, but Ivana gradually, after the first years of marriage when they had to cope with economical difficulties, took up the role of a generous and tolerant housewife.
After the regime change, Pavel and Ivana live with their son Dominik and their daughter Růžena in the same small flat in Nusle, Prague. Pavel has many hobbies and the biggest one, billiards, became also a job for him because he runs a Prague billiards‘club and organizes various competitions and exhibitions. Even his both children are interested in billiards: Dominik (18) and Růžena (11). Pavel still acts as amateur in the same theatre ensemble like years ago and they perform for many
years the same play The Ballad for a Bandit. Pavel plays football, drives a motorbike and wants to start with golf. Ivana is the “manager” of a family. She takes care about the household and all members of the family and their hobbies, such as her daughter‘s figure skating and dances. She finds in all these things her own self-realization.
