Un “Documentary Mondays” putin diferit, cu o selectie de scurt metraje de la FAMU si un invitat special / Michael Bregant – Chair of the FAMU International
FAMU a fost fondata in 1946 ca si leagan al miscarii New Wave din anii 60’; unul din centrele Revolutiei Pasnice din 1989. Ofera programe de Bacalaureat, Masterat si Doctorat in zece departamente: regie, film documentar, cinematografie, scenaristica, animatie, editare, design de sunet, productie, fotografie si studii audiovizuale (in limba ceha).
FAMU are de asemenea o curricula internationala vasta, punand la dispozitie programe educationale predate in limba engleza. Acestea sunt specializate pe regie, cinematografie, scenaristica si film non-narativ. Incepand cu anul 2008, FAMU ofera si programe de master in limba engleza, cu specializari in regie, cinematografie si scenaristica. In curand, un program de doctorat va fi disponibil in limba engleza.

ENGLISH VERSION
Established 1946; cradle of the New Wave movement of the 1960s; one of the centers of the Velvet Revolution of 1989. Offers BA, MA, and PhD programs in ten departments: directing, documentary film, cinematography, screenwriting, animation, editing, sound design, producing, still photography, audiovisual studies (in Czech language).
FAMU also has an extensive international curriculum providing non-degree programs taught in English. These are focused on directing, cinematography, screenwriting and non-narrative film. Since 2008 FAMU also offers MFA programs in English, with focus on directing, cinematography, and screenwriting. A PhD program will also be available in English.

FAMU alumni and Oscar winners are Milos Forman and Agnieszka Holland, among most influential filmmakers are Vìra Chytilova, Jan Nìmec, Juraj Jakubisko, Vojtìch Jasny, Woody Vasulka, Lordan Zafranoviæ, Jan Svirak, Ivan Passer, Goran Paskaljevic, Magnum member Josef Koudelka, present Prague and National Rabbi Karol Sidon and many others. Some of the former FAMU students and faculties contributed significantly to the development of American film education, especially Frank Daniel and Vojtich Jasny.
